| About us |
| PEACE Lakeland was started by Nicole Torres and Sabra Murphy in October of 2004. They both have children diagnosed with Autism and wanted to help other families struggling with the same disorder. |
| Our Vision |
| To respect the privacy of other group members by maintaining confidentiality in all discussions to create a feeling of comfort and trust. (What we say here, stays here.) To be sensitive to group members when expressing their thoughts and feelings by refraining from criticism, prejudice, and judgements. (We want to create a "safe" place for all of us.) To be considerate of other members by being attentive and mindful that everyone deserves an opportunity to speak in the time provided. To pro-actively work to solve problems and encourage each other in a positive manner. To promote awareness of autism among ourselves and attending professional through sharing our knowledge and expressing our joys and concerns. (We can learn so much and teach so much to each other an our community.) Have fun, feel comfortable, and know that we are all in this together! |
