| 1st U.S. Primary Care Medical/Dental Clinic for Patients with Disabilities Opens in Orlando Orlando, Fl 06/02/2008 - The Threshold Center for Autism will hold the ribbon-cutting to open the first of it's kind medical/dental primary care clinic Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at 10:00am on the spot of their long-term care facility at 3550 N. Goldenrod, Winter Park, FL 32792. The primary care medical/dental clinic has been designed from the ground up to deal with the significant challenges posed by patients with physical and behavioral disabilities who have been traditionally underserved by conventional doctor and dentist practices. Constructed by Threshold, Inc., a provider of care for patients with autism in Orange and Seminole Counties for over 30 years with the aid of grants from Orange County Government, The Edith Bush Foundation and C.T. Hsu, the clinic will serve standard primary care community needs along with caring for special needs patients. All doctors and staff will be specifically trained to provide top-quality and safe service to patients with a full range of needs. Dr. Robert E. Wright, CEO of Threshold, Inc. describes the facility as "the first of it's kind in the country" and expects to finalize working arrangements with both the PCAN clinic network and the non-profit organization Shepherd's Hope to provide additional medical and dental services to the area's uninsured and under-insured population in the near future. The Threshold Center for Autism and H3, Inc are striving to provide a full range of treatment care from primary diagnosis to aggressive behavioral therapies for victims of Autism and their families. In addition, on-going research into new treatments are in progress at their campus located at 3550 N. Goldenrod, Winter Park, FL 32792.
