(Part 1): Family F.A.C.T. Folio Volume I: Learn what inclusion means, looks like, and what makes inclusion work for all. Learn how to collaborate for planning inclusion for your child or student in the classroom. 6 inservice points What is Inclusion? (Part 2): Family F.A.C.T. Folio Volume II: Learn the fundamentals for speaking up and working with others positively, to include your child or students and what advocacy and working together look like. (Both workshops are presented by Family Inclusion Network) 6 inservice points Visual Strategies: Come to a make and take on visual strategies for everyday life. Experts will demonstrate effective use of a variety of visual tools for increasing positive behaviors and decreasing negative behaviors. (Part one of a three part workshop) 10 inservice points Developing Communication to Replace Challenging Behavior: Develop positive communication techniques and assess communication enhancement strategies. (Part two of a three part workshop) 6 inservice points Visual Strategies for Children with Autism: Participants will use visual strategies used to prevent challenging behaviors. There will be a chance for parents to create materials to take and use for their children. (Part three of a three part workshop) 6 inservice points Strategies for Class/Homework and Social Skills for Individuals with Asperger’s Syndrome: Learn characteristics exhibited by individuals with Asperger’s Syndrome and strategies to assist with challenges in academic and social situations. 6 inservice points Transitioning from School Age to Adulthood: This workshop will provide the definition of and requirements for transition from school to adult life. Identification of the critical players in the process and creative methods of developing and delivering transition activities in various locations will be described. 6 inservice points Ready to Read Strategies for Home or Classroom: Would you like to learn simple strategies for creating a strong reader? You don’t want to miss this learning opportunity to understand the skills necessary for reading and explore ways to help your child be ready to read and learn. 10 inservice points Agency Fair: For all Parents: Come visit with community and state agencies to receive information about important matters that concern you and your child’s future.
