Welcome to the Old Kingdom, the period of time when Egypt was ruled from 2686 BC –
2181 BC. The first of the three "kingdom" periods, this was a time made up of dynasties.
I have collected 5 artifacts that represent this dynamic period of Egypt. As we know, the
Egyptian people were well known for their appreciation of beauty, monumental
structures, sculptures, art, jewelry, and their strong desire to preserve life after death.
